I love my job!

Anne Hamersky took this of me just after I shot the picture I posted of this kid a couple of days ago. I think that this says how I feel about taking photographs. I really hope that everyone can find something they love to do as much as I love doing what I do.

Cute Kid Poolside Shower

Recently, I assisted for Anne Hamersky on a shoot at a jesuit summer camp. I photographed this kid playing in the shower next to the pool where his sister was playing. It was family day while we were there, and a lot of kids were running around. I forgot how fun it can be making pictures of kids just being themselves.

Black Widow

Look what I found in my parents' pump house in Greeley Hill Last week. The Black Widow was huge, but I was in no real danger and killed her after she posed for the portrait. I hate spiders even thought I understand how they are important for pest control. I wonder how they evolved to have the hourglass?

From Dark to Dim

Darkrooms have always been a comforting place for me. In the dark with water running and images appearing like little dreams made real. I especially felt this way about my father's darkroom. I grew up in darkrooms, and my very idea of my father has always been synonymous with working in a darkroom.

Upon arriving at my parents' house this week, my father's darkroom sink lay in the front yard like a heart ripped from my childhood. My dad and my uncle excitedly told me the room was now a dimroom, digital imaging room. Dimroom may be a witty thought, but it felt like any other room. I guess light chases away inner peace, imagination or whatever that special thing that hides inside us all is, even the low light of the dimroom.

Cole in the Light

As The Dave Hanley Band waited to play at my friends Tony and Cristina's wedding their harmonica player, Cole who is also a friend, looked to the hall's door to see if it was time to go on stage. These guys play amazing bluegrass or indy folk, whatever you want to call it. I took this a long time ago. but I just found it in a wedding folder the other day.
