Modesto Livestock Auction

Every Monday, along 7th street in Modesto, Calif., there is a livestock auction and flea market that has been around for over 100 years. At the auction, you can buy a baby goat for as little as $2.50! (Adm won't let me get one... :( yet). Photos by Alison Yin

I am curious and want to visit this place you posted.

Can you give me the address of the auction?
Is there any car fee and/or people fee?
Is it within a flea market or close to one?
What else or what other animals are also auctioned? Are they all as cheap as the baby goat?
Do you know how much the pigs are auction for?

Sorry for all the questions.

Thank you.

Please be cautious about buying baby animals! They are cheap for a reason... usually because they have not received proper antibodies from the mother. Also, they must be bottlefed special formula for up to two months, unless you happen to have a "childless mother" animal available... and IF that animal will accept the new baby (not likely with farm animals).

My father, Lary Gremp is the owner of Modesto Livestock & Flea Market. I just showed him these photos and he is very impressed with them. If it's alright with you, he would like to have your permission to use a couple of the photos you have taken.

Thanks, Hilary Gremp
