Turlock Homeless Shelter

I am way behind on my blogging so I'll attempt to catch up in the coming weeks.

These photos are from a shoot I did at a homeless shelter in Turlock that opened in the beginning of December. It is only for single men, which is something that is definitely needed since most shelters are geared towards providing for women and children. The opening of the shelter was also right in time since nights are in the 30s-40s in the valley these days. The effects of the poor economy are visible particularly throughout small towns in central California since the unemployment rate continues to rise.

This shelter is especially nice because the space used to be a hotel. With so many rooms, many of the men are able to get their own room and their own bed - a luxury not found at most shelters.

Generous volunteers make a nice meal for the men staying at the shelter:

Love the shots, you have captured the true moments of life. Great work. I would like to suggest you to get in touch with the bizymoms Turlock community to feature these on their page. It’s free and the moms will love them
